Connect Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools

Socialibi runs a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Connect it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP-capable tool and you can ask things like “How did our posts do last week?”, “Plan a two-week campaign for our new menu” or “Draft five posts about Saturday's offer”, and the assistant works inside your Socialibi workspace.

Your server URL

https://www.socialibi.com/mcp

It is the same for every client. Tools that can sign in with OAuth (Claude, ChatGPT) need only this URL.

Connect Claude

  1. Open Settings → Connectors in Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app) and choose Add custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner may need to add it under organization settings first.
  2. Name it Socialibi, paste the server URL and add it.
  3. Choose Connect, sign in to Socialibi, pick the workspace and the permissions, and click Allow access.
  4. Start a chat. The connector also offers ready-made prompts: a weekly performance report, a campaign planner and a week-of-posts drafter.

For Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http socialibi https://www.socialibi.com/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code and choose Socialibi to sign in.

Connect ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT open Settings → Apps & Connectors (called Plugins in some versions) and enable Developer mode under Advanced if offered. Menu names change as ChatGPT updates, and custom connectors depend on your ChatGPT plan.
  2. Choose Add custom MCP server, name it Socialibi, paste the server URL and select OAuth for authentication.
  3. Accept the custom connector warning, create it, then sign in to Socialibi and choose the permissions.
  4. In a chat, enable Socialibi from the tools menu. ChatGPT asks for confirmation before actions that change data.

ChatGPT's deep research uses two tools, search and fetch; Socialibi provides both, covering your posts and campaigns.

Cursor, Gemini-based tools and anything else

Tools that cannot sign in with OAuth use a personal API token. Create one in Socialibi under Settings → AI connections → API tokens. It is shown once, stored only as a fingerprint, can expire, and can be revoked at any time. Then add it to the tool's MCP configuration, for example in Cursor's mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "socialibi": {
      "url": "https://www.socialibi.com/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"
      }
    }
  }
}

Some tools call the URL field something else (for example httpUrl in Gemini CLI); the header is always Authorization: Bearer followed by your token.

Permissions

Every connection acts as one person in one workspace and can never do more than that person can in Socialibi (brand access, roles and plan limits all apply). On top of that, you choose what the connection may do:

PermissionWhat it allows
Read (read)See brands, accounts, posts, performance, campaigns, leads and media. Changes nothing.
Create drafts (draft)Create draft posts, ask for AI caption suggestions (counted against your plan), send a draft to a client for approval fill in a bio page that is not live yet and draft a paid promotion plan (nothing is launched or spent).
Schedule posts (schedule)Schedule or reschedule existing drafts, and change a bio page that is already live (each change needs your confirmation in the chat). Brands that require approval still need an approved post, and nothing is ever published immediately.

Read-only is the default. Write permissions are always opt-in.

Available tools

ToolWhat it doesNeeds
whoami
Reads
Shows which Socialibi workspace and person this connection acts as, what it is allowed to do (read, draft, schedule) and the workspace's plan. Call it first when unsure whether a write action is permitted.read
list_brands
Reads
Lists the brands (client businesses) in the workspace that you can access, with whether each requires client approval before posting. Brand ids from here are used by almost every other tool.read
list_accounts
Reads
Lists connected social accounts (Facebook pages, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads) with their platform, brand and status. Only accounts with status 'active' can be used in create_draft_post.read
list_posts
Reads
Lists posts newest first with their status per account (draft, scheduled, publishing, published, failed), caption excerpt, schedule time and approval state. Filter by brand, campaign, status, a text search of the caption, or a date range (by schedule or publish time). Use get_post for full details and metrics.read
get_post
Reads
Returns one post in full: caption, media, every account's status and error (if it failed), schedule, approval status and note, comments count, and the latest engagement metrics (likes, comments, shares, saves, reach where the platform reports them) for published accounts.read
get_analytics_summary
Reads
Summarises performance over the last N days: posts published, total and average engagement, engagement per platform, the top posts with their numbers, and (if you may view analytics and the plan includes leads) link clicks, new leads, customers and campaign results. The window is limited by the plan's analytics history. Use it for weekly or monthly reports.read
list_campaigns
Reads
Lists campaigns with their goal, status, dates, number of posts, tracked-link clicks and leads attributed to each (first touch). Use it to see which campaigns are working before planning new content.read
list_leads
Reads
Lists CRM contacts (leads) newest first with status, source and campaign they came from, tags and marketing consent. Requires permission to view leads in Socialibi and a plan that includes lead forms. Contains personal data: only quote what the person asked for, and never use it to message people who have not consented.read
list_media
Reads
Lists the workspace's uploaded images and videos (newest first) with id, type, size, dimensions and a link. Use a media id as media_ids in create_draft_post. Videos that were already published are removed from storage and cannot be reused.read
search
Reads
Searches posts (by caption) and campaigns (by name) and returns matching results with ids to pass to fetch. Provided for ChatGPT deep research and company knowledge; use the more specific list_* tools otherwise.read
fetch
Reads
Returns the full text of a post or campaign found with search, given its id (for example 'post:abc123' or 'campaign:xyz789').read
suggest_captions
Reads
Writes caption drafts grounded in the brand's own best-performing past captions, using Socialibi's caption assistant. Returns text only and never creates a post. Each call counts against the workspace's monthly AI allowance, so ask for what you need in one call (count up to 4). Invented facts such as prices or dates are left as [bracketed gaps] for the person to fill.draft
import_media
Changes data
Downloads a public https image (JPEG or PNG, up to 8 MB) or video (MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 48 MB) into the media library and returns a media_id for create_draft_post. Use it to bring in pictures and clips made by other tools (Higgsfield, Nano Banana, Canva and similar): pass the file's public link. Generator links often expire quickly, so import right after generating. The file is checked by its contents, counted against the video storage allowance, and no post is created. Links to private addresses are refused. Importing the same link twice creates two library items.draft
generate_media
Changes data
Generates an image or a short video from a text prompt using the workspace's OWN Google (Nano Banana) or Higgsfield API key, which the workspace owner added in Settings > Creative tools. The workspace owner pays the provider directly for each generation. The result is saved to the media library (JPEG or PNG up to 8 MB, or MP4, MOV or WebM) and the tool returns a media_id for create_draft_post. Images usually finish within the call. Videos take minutes: if it is not done in about 30 seconds the tool returns a job_id and status instead, and you poll get_media_job. No post is created. Each call may cost the owner money, so generate only what the person asked for and do not retry blindly. Providers refuse some content (for example real people's likeness) and say so in the error.draft
get_media_job
Reads
Checks a generation started with generate_media: status is queued, running, storing, done or failed. When done it includes media_id (use it in create_draft_post); when failed it explains why in plain words (invalid key, out of credits, content refused). Videos usually take 1 to 5 minutes, so wait at least 20 seconds between checks.draft
get_bio_page
Reads
Returns the brand's link-in-bio page: its address path, whether it is live, name, bio, theme and every block with its block_id, type, title, address, schedule and whether it is hidden. Use it before changing a page so you edit the right block. exists is false when the brand has no page yet; a person creates it in Socialibi > Bio page.read
get_bio_analytics
Reads
Views, visitors, link clicks and click rate for a brand's bio page over the last days (up to 30 on basic plans, 365 on Plus and above), with the top links by clicks, where visitors came from, devices and a daily series. Use it to see which links earn clicks before suggesting changes. Link clicks are counted when people tap a link on the page.read
add_bio_block
Changes data
Adds one block (a link, heading, text, social icons, WhatsApp or email button, image, video, product or contact form) to a brand's bio page. Give the fields the type needs: link needs title and url; whatsapp needs title and phone (digits with country code); email needs title and email; product needs title and url; video needs a YouTube or Vimeo url; form needs title and form_slug of one of the brand's forms; socials needs socials. Images, video, product and form blocks and scheduling need Plus and above. A page that is not live is just a draft for a person to review and publish. If the page is LIVE the change is public at once: that needs the 'Schedule posts' permission and user_confirmed set to true, and only after the person has agreed to the exact change. This tool never publishes or unpublishes a page.draft
update_bio_block
Changes data
Changes fields of an existing bio page block, found by block_id from get_bio_page. Send only what should change; an empty string clears an optional field. Use hidden to take a block off the page without losing it, and position to move it. Same rules as add_bio_block: a page that is not live is a draft; a LIVE page needs the 'Schedule posts' permission and user_confirmed true after the person agreed to this exact change.draft
remove_bio_block
Changes data
Removes one block from a brand's bio page. Prefer update_bio_block with hidden true if the person may want it back, because a removed block's settings are gone (its past clicks stay in analytics). Same rules as add_bio_block: a LIVE page needs the 'Schedule posts' permission and user_confirmed true after the person agreed.draft
update_bio_profile
Changes data
Changes the name, bio text, profile picture (an image media_id from list_media) or theme of a brand's bio page. Picking a theme resets custom colours and fonts; premium themes need Plus and above. Same rules as add_bio_block: a LIVE page needs the 'Schedule posts' permission and user_confirmed true after the person agreed. It never publishes or unpublishes the page.draft
list_promotions
Reads
Lists the brand's paid promotion plans (ads the owner plans in Socialibi and runs in their own Facebook, Instagram or TikTok ad account) with status and results: spent, taps, enquiries, customers, sales and cost for each result. Spending is typed in by the owner from the ad network, so it is only as current as their last entry; taps, enquiries and customers are counted by Socialibi from the promotion's tracking link, leads and won deals. Needs a plan that includes Promote.read
get_promotion
Reads
Returns one promotion: goal, audience, ad text, budget, tracking link, results, a daily series and Socialibi's plain recommendation (for example that people tap but do not enquire, or that it costs less than the brand's other promotions). For a draft it lists what is still needed before it can be launched. Use it to explain how a promotion is doing, or to suggest what to change in the next one.read
draft_promotion
Changes data
Saves a DRAFT promotion plan for a brand: goal, where customers are, audience, ad text, destination and budget. It only plans. It never makes the tracking link, never launches anything and never spends money: a person finishes and launches it in Socialibi > Promote, in their own ad account, and sets the spending limit. Prefer a wide audience near the business over narrow interests. Do not target by health, religion, sexuality, ethnicity, politics or finances (those interests are removed). Use only facts the person gave you in the ad text; never invent prices or dates. Returns what is still needed.draft
create_draft_post
Changes data
Creates a DRAFT post for one brand across one or more of its connected accounts. It is never published or scheduled by this tool; a person reviews it in Socialibi (or you schedule it with schedule_post after they agree). Brands that require approval stay blocked until the post is approved. Platform rules apply (e.g. Instagram needs media; TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest need extra choices that must be completed in Socialibi, in which case the tool explains what is missing). Duplicate calls create duplicate drafts.draft
request_approval_link
Changes data
Sends a draft or scheduled post for client review and returns a private review link (valid 14 days) to give to the client. The client can approve, request changes and comment without an account. Requires a plan with client approvals. Calling it again issues a fresh link and restarts the review.draft
schedule_post
Changes data
Schedules a draft (or moves a scheduled post) to a future time, for every account on the post. Never publishes immediately: the time must be at least 10 minutes ahead and include a timezone offset. Brands that require approval need the post approved first. Only call it after the person has explicitly agreed to this exact post and time, and then set user_confirmed to true. A person can undo it by moving the post back to draft in Socialibi.schedule

Using media made by other AI tools

Generate pictures or clips in tools like Higgsfield, Nano Banana or Canva (inside Claude or ChatGPT, or on their own), then ask your assistant to use them in Socialibi. It calls import_media with the file's public link, receives a media id, and attaches it to a draft with create_draft_post.

Generating images and videos

With generate_media your assistant can make a new image or short video using the workspace's own Google (Nano Banana) or Higgsfield key, which the workspace owner adds in Settings → Creative tools. You pay the provider directly for each generation; Socialibi adds no charge. Images usually come back within the call with a media id. Videos take minutes, so the tool returns a job id and the assistant checks it with get_media_job. The result lands in your media library, ready for create_draft_post.

Bio pages

Your assistant can read and prepare a brand's link-in-bio page. get_bio_page shows the page and its blocks,get_bio_analytics shows views, clicks per link and where visitors come from, and add_bio_block, update_bio_block, remove_bio_block and update_bio_profile change it. Ask it, for example, to add this week's product, hide a finished promotion, or reorder the page by what gets the most clicks.

Paid promotions

If your plan includes Promote, your assistant can read how a brand's promotions are doing and draft the next one. list_promotions and get_promotion show spending, taps, enquiries, customers, sales and a plain recommendation, and draft_promotion saves a plan for a person to finish.
